Surface modification

Atmospheric pressure cold plasma offers an innovative, cost-effective and eco-friendly solution for the support of several processes: deposition of organic or inorganic coating (e.g. polymer, silica-like coating, anti-scratch films), modification of packaging barrier properties and activation of materials (e.g. polymers, metals), thus increasing their surface energy to facilitate gluing and to improve printability, avoiding the need of using a primer. Furthermore, for the case of natural and synthetic fabrics, plasma treatment promotes the processes of de-sizing and coloring (dyeing), can increase the mechanical properties and improve the characteristics of hydrophilicity / hydrophobicity of the tissue.
